tatted heart Valentines card

This is a Valentines card that I sent to my husband Stephen, I'm a little late in adding it to my blog but better late than never! The pattern is called tatted heart (valentine)3 from free tatting patterns. I can't say that I enjoyed doing this pattern as the instructions were hard to follow, they were clearly written down but the main thing that I didn't like was every picot was just marked as p and didn't say if it was + or - so you had to keep going from pattern to printed photo all the time it wasn't even a pictorial diagram. Anyway despite all the moaning the card was finished and I thought the heart worked well on gold card, I think it made it more of a man card. I am going to make this year the year of the cushion, last year it was a lot of boxes now cushions. I am half way through another tatted cushion, this one is going to be a present, I thought I would start early. This is all my blogging for now Till next time xx

Crazy Heart Cushion

My Crazy Heart cushion is finished and I think it has worked well. I have used various stitches and beads and added straight stitch to the outside of the heart to give it definition.I chose soft colours, at first I was only going to use peaches and creams but other colours like the greens crept in to the design which I thought helped to lift the colours.

crazy heart work in progress

This is my latest project, a crazy patch heart cushion, things are progressing well at the moment, I am keeping the colours pale, at first I was going to use just peaches and creams but as I am going along more colours keep creaping in. The hardest part is deciding what stitches to use and in what combination to make the design look interesting. Anyway I thought I would give you all a little look at how it was going on.
