finished knitted and embroidered cushion and some more cards

Hello everyone,
This week I have been busy finishing my cushion and card making again. I have also joined a local knitting, crochet and sewing group, it is a newly formed group and at the first meeting only four of us turned up but now it has grown to ten. All the members are very friendly and quite a few of them have a good knowledge of knitting. We all share our knowledge and projects as well as having a cup of tea and some cake!
Now back to my cushion, it was made from the left over wool from my cardigan
The cushion is made by knitting four blocks, each made in stocking stitch with a moss stitch border. The back is done in all moss stitch. The flowers are embroidered with tapestry wool and if you look closely the surface is covered in small pearl beads.
Everyone loved the cushion at the knitting group and I now have two orders for them, one wants the flowers of the four seasons and the other in more Burgundy colours.

These are the cards I have made so far this week

I have made this one for an order and it has now gone to a good home!

I thought that I would get in early with this one!
Bye for now, susan x

This week I have been making cards with my new punches, I have been combining decoupage with the punching.
The flowers and the girl are decoupaged, the border I have used the punch to create a lace effect.

This card I have used the punch again to create the lace but added flowers to create a 3D effect. I have used the same image as my other card from my previous blog.

This is an idea I had for a pram card, the card is the same back and front so that it can stand up on its own. Again I have used the punch to make the lace border.

knitted/embroidered cushion

Hi, Happy new Year to you all! I have started the new year with a knitted cushion with an embroidered pattern. I have started by knitting four blocks all with a moss stitch border. The cushion back is also going to be in moss stitch.

This is close up of the embroidered flowers

For Christmas I have got some lovely punches which cut out lace patterns, I have made a card using them, it is in a vintage style using an image taken from the magic moonlight blog.
