knitted slippers and embroidered cards

I have knitted two pairs of slippers, both of which are for presents. I have used nice blue and purple colours, which will be nice for the winter.

I have added a few more embroidered cards to the collection
The first one is a lovely bird done in a straight stitch

The second is an owl card, I like the colours of this one, the background is done in red and blue water colours, making nice rich tones, complimenting the golden owl.

The third card is a Christmas moon embroidered in silver thread.

embroidered and parchment cards

These are my latest cards, there is a mix of embroidered and parchment cards

The wreath is embroidered with satin stitch and French knots and the background I painted with water colours

I thought that I would have a try at redwork, this is something that I haven't done before. I was happy with how they turned out, they are a lot quicker to embroider, just trace the pattern and sew using straight stitch.

The next cards are parchment, coloured using pencils

Embroidered cards

This time I have been embroidering cards,  I would like to do another craft fair at some point so I am trying to build up my stock, I have got a long way to go yet and a lot of sewing to do so I think I will aim more for next year.
These are what I have made so far

I have framed them all using an embossed card frame, I thought this was the best idea as the embroideries could be put into proper picture frames or just left as cards.

Embroidered cards

I have been enjoying my embroidery again and a few little cards have been created

This was made from the embroidery that I showed you last time, it is made with blue organza at the back of the flowers.

This one is a nice snowdrop embroidery, the stitches are satin stitch, stem stitch and French knots.

I have embroidered two more cards that I will show you all next time.

There isn't any embroidery on this one, the flower has been stamped and layered.

I have also made two pairs of knitted socks ready for the winter

Wonky Donkey

The donkey has been made for the donkey sanctuary in Manchester, they sell them in their gift shop to raise money for the charity. My husband called him wonky due to his bandy legs, poor thing, I think he has had a hard life!!

I have started a little embroidery, I was inspired by a programme I watched on hochanda all about Rowandean embroidery kits, I just had to get the sewing hoop out and have a go.

This is a little card that I made, embossed flowers in the middle with a parchment frill

knitted snowflake mitts, neck warmer knitted slippers and rose card

It has been hard to find time to blog again as my mum has been in hospital with pneumonia, but I am glad to say that she is feeling much stronger now and getting more like her usual self.
I have finished the snowflake mitts that I have made for myself and this time they are a good fit, I started to make a hat to go with them, not in the same pattern but in similar colours but I didn't like how it was turning out so I made a neck warmer instead.

The neck warmer is knitted with the same brown and cream as the mitts with a little pink to make my wool go further.
This weekend was nice and sunny, I knitted these slippers while sitting in the garden.

This is a nice little card made for my mum's friend

Nordic mitts, childrens cardigan and practical knitted jumper

Hello, here is my update, a bit late again. I have finished my Nordic mittens, they were a little bit big for my small hands so I have donated them to the knitting club for their charity stall. I have now started another pair in a different pattern and made them a smaller fit, I will post these next time

I have made a little cardigan for my niece Abby, it is just a basic hooded cardigan decorated with embroidered flowers.

I have been knitting for weeks a practical grey jumper made from recycled wool from a crochet jumper that I had, the neck was a bit to wide so I thought that I would undo and make something else and here it is.

finished knitted jumper and glove

My knitted jumper is now completed, I have had it on twice and it is wearing well, I have got a nice scarf to go with it.

I have started knitting a pair of Nordic style mittens, I have only completed one at the moment. I knitted them on double pointed needles with DK yarn, left over from my jumper.

The front is the same pattern as the back. The fair isle knit gives the mitts a warm and cosy feel which will keep my hands warm.

I have also made two cards this week

knitted cable hat and jumper update

Happy New year to you all! I have been neglecting posting on my blog again, there is always other things to do but most important I have still found time to craft. The jumper pattern has been sorted and I have just one more sleeve to go before it is finished

I have also knitted a new hat to keep out the cold, today we had our first snow with very strong wind so my hat was just the job.
