Hi, I have got lots for you to see this time, I have made lots more cards and I have discovered the Swedish tomte, which is like a father Christmas crossed with a knome. I thought that I would have a go at making some and here is what I made
This one I didn't knit but made it from an old knitted jumper
This is a felted one
This one I knitted and put a bell on its hat
I have only done one embroidered card this time as I have been more in the mood for parching so here are my creations.
These are my latest cards, there is a mix of embroidered and parchment cards
The wreath is embroidered with satin stitch and French knots and the background I painted with water colours
I thought that I would have a try at redwork, this is something that I haven't done before. I was happy with how they turned out, they are a lot quicker to embroider, just trace the pattern and sew using straight stitch.
The next cards are parchment, coloured using pencils
This time I have been embroidering cards, I would like to do another craft fair at some point so I am trying to build up my stock, I have got a long way to go yet and a lot of sewing to do so I think I will aim more for next year.
These are what I have made so far
I have framed them all using an embossed card frame, I thought this was the best idea as the embroideries could be put into proper picture frames or just left as cards.
The donkey has been made for the donkey sanctuary in Manchester, they sell them in their gift shop to raise money for the charity. My husband called him wonky due to his bandy legs, poor thing, I think he has had a hard life!!
I have started a little embroidery, I was inspired by a programme I watched on hochanda all about Rowandean embroidery kits, I just had to get the sewing hoop out and have a go.
This is a little card that I made, embossed flowers in the middle with a parchment frill
It has been hard to find time to blog again as my mum has been in hospital with pneumonia, but I am glad to say that she is feeling much stronger now and getting more like her usual self.
I have finished the snowflake mitts that I have made for myself and this time they are a good fit, I started to make a hat to go with them, not in the same pattern but in similar colours but I didn't like how it was turning out so I made a neck warmer instead.
The neck warmer is knitted with the same brown and cream as the mitts with a little pink to make my wool go further.
This weekend was nice and sunny, I knitted these slippers while sitting in the garden.
This is a nice little card made for my mum's friend
Hello, here is my update, a bit late again. I have finished my Nordic mittens, they were a little bit big for my small hands so I have donated them to the knitting club for their charity stall. I have now started another pair in a different pattern and made them a smaller fit, I will post these next time
I have made a little cardigan for my niece Abby, it is just a basic hooded cardigan decorated with embroidered flowers.
I have been knitting for weeks a practical grey jumper made from recycled wool from a crochet jumper that I had, the neck was a bit to wide so I thought that I would undo and make something else and here it is.
